The first area of my life that changed was my health. Health must be the first step to change-regardless of what you're trying to achieve in life. Good health has a ripple effect.
You can't enjoy your life, money, business, or family if you're sick and out of shape. Go ahead and try. See what happens.
Not that it matters, but people WILL judge you on your appearance. It may not be politically correct to say that, but it's 100% true and has even been proven in studies. When you're overweight and out of shape, it represents your character and tells people you don't care about your life and your health.
Who wants to do business with a person that doesn't give a shit about how they look? Who wants to be in a relationship with a person that can't even take basic care of themselves?
When you don't take physical care of yourself, you don't really love yourself." How can you say that?" you ask. The answer is simple: If you loved yourself, you wouldn't let yourself get that way in the first place. How you look is a representation of how you really feel about yourself.
This is the first step to self-improvement and a baddass life. My whole life changed when I decided to get fit and take back control of my life. Taking self-responsibility for your health will have a domino effect in all other areas of your life: relationships, family, business, career, and will help build confidence

Above: Me in 2002 with my daughter Chloe- out of shape with absolutely no style whatsoever.

Above: A tired, out of shape me in 2004 with Chloe. I was 31 years old.
Below: My fat ass with Marcus Miller. I think I was 28. Man, I look like I had golf balls in my mouth!

Below: me in 2009: age 36. I exercise in my living room doing natural body weight exercises, yoga and pilates. I don't take weird powders for muscle growth or any other supplement that burns fat or gets you "ripped."

Now normally I would never be a jackass and post a picture of myself with no shirt on, but this is to prove a point. The point is, it doesn't matter what age you are: You can change your life by changing your health!
Here is what I use to stay fit, have energy, and feel great!
My friend, Kristin McGee's awesome yoga DVDs
Matt Furey's Combat Conditioning- natural bodyweight exercises
The only supplements I use besides a men's multi-vitamin
This is all you need. You don't need a gym, a trainer, or fancy supplements. All that is required is a desire to change. Even if you're fed up and disgusted at the way you look- just take action. It doesn't matter how small, as long as you do something. Pick up Matt's book, or Kristin's DVDs to get the ball rolling! Below are some other books I personally recommend:
