"Pistol" Pete Kaufmann is a professional musician, writer, lifestyle enhancement coach, and speaker who spends his time between New York City and Los Angeles. Kaufmann currently tours as the drummer for Amandla (led by Claude Coleman Jr. of Ween) and is a contributing writer for Modern Drummer Magazine- having written more than a dozen articles, two cover interviews and a plethora of educational pieces focusing on the musician's mind and thinking. In addition to writing for the biggest drum magazine in the world, Pete's a contributing writer for New York City based Bella Magazine, with an emphasis on self-improvement and goal setting. Kaufmann has appeared as a guest on "The Fabulous Lisa Ann Walter Show" on KFI AM in Los Angeles and is a regular guest on local Jersey City cable show, "Mamarama," with host Jayne Freeman.
in 2010, Pete helped childhood friend, Alaina Giordano, gain world-wide attention during her child custody battle in which a North Carolina judge awarded Giordano's ex-husband custody of her two children, citing her stage 4 breast cancer as a major factor. Through Kaufmann's social media expertise and experience in publicity and promotion, he created her Fanpage (www.facebook.com/friendsofalaina) which led to appearances on The Today Show, MSNBC, Inside Edition, The Dr. Drew Show, The Gayle King Show, The Anderson Cooper Show, and international news, resulting in Giordano acquiring her top-notch, pro bono attorneys.
Kaufmann is also president of Rockin Lifestyle- a company that specializes in helping artists and organizations who are looking for new direction, inspiration, change, and fresh ideas for life or business. In addition to business consulting, Kaufmann has been coaching individuals and groups for over 10 years and does speaking engagements on reaching one's full potential in life. He considers his style of motivation more "New Jersey" than "New Age." He passionately believes that the attitude and power of rock 'n' roll can be applied to daily living to improve one's overall state of happiness and success.
Kaufmann's philosophy can be summed up in two sentences: "Life is f@#king awesome. As soon as you can accept this statement, you can begin living it."
"Be careful where you get your advice from, or you’ll find yourself WORSE off than before. Pistol is the real deal. He lives a rockin’ lifestyle that isn’t by accident; it’s a result of what he knows. Let him share it with you, and get happy…"
